In this course, you will expand on Essentials 1 course topics. You will also be introduced to new features and functions of Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation firewalls.

Successful completion of this three-day, instructor-led course will enable the student to install, configure, manage, and perform basic troubleshooting on the entire line of Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation firewalls.

Students attending this introductory-level class will gain an in-depth knowledge of the basics of implementing and managing GlobalProtect and Active/Active High Availability. In addition, students will learn to optimize their visibility and control over applications, users, and content.

After successfully completing this course, you should be able to:

This course is recommended for security engineers, network engineers, and support staff. Prior to attending this course, students should have

  • Attended the Essentials 1: Firewall Installation, Configuration, and Management (PAN-EDU 201) class or have equivalent experience
  • Basic familiarity with networking concepts, including routing, switching, IP addressing, and basic port-based security concepts
